Why Esh’s Utility Buildings

History Snapshot

Our journey as shed builders started under a shade tree in North Carolina in 1984. Our founder, John Esh, began building sheds in the backyard with his seven sons. Working with the boys after school, John built portable buildings and storage sheds by hand, one at a time. As more buildings were delivered to happy customers, the family of shed builders began to develop a reputation for attention to detail, top-notch construction, and a commitment to dealing honestly. With these core principles, the business continued to prosper and grow for the next decade and a half.

Other partners began to join the business through the years, carrying on the vision that John had established decades before. In 2019, the business was sold to the Gingerich family, longtime friends of the Eshes. Although the faces at the business are different now, the Esh name remains, a tribute to the legacy of quality that our company was founded on.
